Crick SmithThis impressive Victorian building, designed by the architect J.B. Pearce, was opened by The Prince of Wales on 31st May 1882. The exterior has undergone major restoration in recent years, funded by English Heritage.
Following on from this, Crick Smith were engaged to investigate the interior of the building. The principal rooms were assessed in order to identify the original decorative schemes, as the aim is to have these recreated.
The significance of the surviving historic scheme in a closed off area was also investigated. The aim here is to have the surving schemes conserved and retouched.
