Paul spent much of the final year of his studies in conservation at the University of Lincoln as the Assistant Conservator at Doncaster Museum & Art Gallery. Working on the remedial treatment of a wide variety of objects and collections management issues for the redisplay project at Cusworth Hall. After graduating in 2007 he spent a period in buildings conservation: lime pointing, rendering, preparing reports and advising on preventive conservation issues, prior to taking up a new post at the University of Lincoln.
At the University Paul provides technical support to students and staff in gilding and ceramics conservation. He has been a member of the Crick-Smith team since early 2008 working as an on-site conservator and as an architectural paint researcher.
